The hotel industry gets screwed in Florida as do the citizens of tourist centric areas. The 5% bed tax paid by the hotel guests pays for beach, park improvements & maintenance, and much more.

The bigger the business the more they like regulations. Kills the competition that doesn't have an army of lawyers to help them comply.

They are building hotels everywhere. Just the past 14 months I have seen rates rising. Let the market tend to itself. I dont see hotels hurting

Regulation is what hikes the prices. Ask any doctor who has to follow Medicaid/Medicare guidelines.

There should be no regulation in free market. Adapt or die

No, it should not be regulated. Regulate AirBnb and you are regulating the Internet. Hotels can compete if they choose to do so in the same way movie theaters adapted to compete with home video.

What I do with my property, barring disturbing/impacting my neighbors, is my business. That I may cause disruption to a business due to competition is called a free market. Happily, my town/county/state honors this simple theory.

If you happen to live next to one or across the street from one, it could destroy the property value of your home. Long term rentals are one thing, short term totally different and yes they should be regulated if for no other reason to protect property values around your home

Tenant leases do not allow subletting of any kind. When they sublet their apartment they are in violation of their lease and should be evicted immediately.

toss up: Its your property so why not? Its your property but zoning says NO. Its your property but its in a quiet Residential neighborhood. Honestly I'm not sure.

People go to abnb when hotels cost too much. Hotels should figure out a way to fill empty rooms.

You can get plenty of the DJT clown show on the other news shows.
@SharylAttkisson provides a great service by covering stories that are overlooked by all the others. -
She's wonderful, and I agree with you completely....But when I first saw this post, given the fact that the country probably will be further suffering months of impeachment turmoil, and I see and AirBnB ad....Sorry that was my first impression.
