That's not how it works. Surprised you don't know that. In fact, it keeps us from being a Democracy, the Rule of the Mob and keeps us a Republic, a Nation of Laws. But hey, if the tables were turned, you'd be giving the E.C. all sorts of praise, we know.

Well, I have always supported the EC—and still do. But if we start routinely electing presidents with a minority popular vote, that’s a problem.

I don’t have an informed view but why would the number of times that happens impact the viability of our system, in your view? It was designed in a way that permits it. If the designers wanted popular vote to rule then they would not have made EC.
