This is a very bad idea. What do you think?https://twitter.com/jack/status/1023976914824744961 …

An update! We’ve selected 2 partners from 230 idea submissions. Our first goal is working to measure the “health” of public conversation, and that measurement be open and defined by third parties (not by us). https://blog.twitter.com/official/en_us/topics/company/2018/measuring_healthy_conversation.html …

Is this a step to censoring public communication?

Twitter is already doing it, it has been censoring posts from the beginning. Yet they allow things to stimulate and stir up confusions, dissension, division, and anger. It's a conglomerate of propaganda.

Absolutely. Even the concept of "conversational health" sounds Orwellian.

. @jack is putting a smiley face on censorship. Subjective opinions on the ‘health’ of the conversation, no matter who does it, is censorship and not free speech. Just another cover for squelching opinions the left doesn’t like.

As long as people aren’t threatening violence, like @RepMaxineWaters and @CoryBooker, @jack should stand down and let people have discussions of differing opinions. Simple concept.

The problem is people like @jack and other overlords have convinced themselves that we need to be nannied and shown the way. Truth is we just want to be left the hell alone to make our own decisions. Less is more. In time, they'll end up being a memory like MySpace.

if users had to use their real names and those were verified, the number of trolls would drop dramatically. All without a 3rd party or consultant.

Given the low opinion he and his Twitter engineers & academics have of conservatives, “all the conservatives” is his answer. Casting censorship as a public health issue is just a ploy to deflect criticism, since who can oppose “improving the health of public conversation...”
