You’d move the antenna and it’d be perfect, until you took your hand off. Every channel was a new metallic contortion -good thing that there was only 4 channels

-
We were lucky, we had 6.

Did you ever watch the UHF channels? It was like tuning a ham radio -very touchy. Luckily it only minor stations on it (Like pbs
) -
Yeah, it was an art of turning the adjustment and moving the circle-wired UHF antenna at the same time. It was rough but I was not going to miss the Underdog Show and Go Go Gophers!

Nah . We were the remote, and when the channel changer fell off, a good pair of pliers did the job .

Our TV in the basement had a funky Horizontal Hold. When the screen started rolling you had to get up and hit the TV pretty good, and the screen would stop rolling. Good memory

The original remotes activated the tv by using sound. You actually hit a tuned fork when you clicked a button. (most had like only 3-4 commands) That's where the old name for a remote; "the clicker" came from.
