We in the media... and politicians... often forget we are talking past most people when we use jargon. I'll bet most Americans can't tell you what "litmus" is (let along litmus paper) without looking it up.

I did not attend any journalism classes, while at various Universities, did they teach "perspective"? Judging by many comments, and my own reply, the readers perspective appears to differ
