To punctuate your analogy: what if all these FBI people had made hateful, explicit racial slurs and then insisted--'we were just jazzing privately among friends, it doesn't bleed over into our work, we are fair minded people, we had no intent.' #ExplanationAccepted? #IThinkNothttps://twitter.com/GerkenB/status/1009167007281971200 …

#3 is the one they, the left, find incomprehensible. It’s not a left or right problem at stake here. Shame they just don’t get it!

Why is the context of Stzok's text so unimportant to those who hold your views? He didn't announce this as the FBI's new mission statement. He was venting to his squeeze. Though he shouldn't have used his work phone, he has every right to say it. His actions betrayed no bias.

Context: Highly disturbing that nation's top counterespionage official said "we" would "stop" Trump, needed "insurance policy", said Special Counsel probe would likely "lead to impeachment" even with no 'there' there, was assigned to all the probes. Whether Dem or Repub. Huge.

Do you read "we" as "the FBI?" I read it as "we," meaning the voters. We meaning Americans. I've used "we" in that context many, many times, especially when talking in a non-professional way, I.e. to a girlfriend. How sure are you that "we" meant a deep state conspiracy?
