Isn't that from 2014? The Obama administration in 2014.

If you look at the article, this is the date on it "Jan. 28, 2016" hmmm who was President then?? I don't believe it was Trump.

I think it’s overly generous to say all lawmakers have “best of intentions”. Clearly some do not. They want votes/power& are willing to sacrifice innocents safety for gain
-
I think it’s over generous to believe that all people accompanying children while illegally crossing the US border are parents or even related to the child. Children are being exploited.

Was that under bush or Obama both had this policy but Dems didn't care then since there are no other knee jerk issues that pull at the heart they have latched on to this issue.this will end up like DACA as soon as the cameras move on so will they.

It boils down to if you are more comfortable with the possibility of allowing a minor child to remain with a human trafficker or removing the child to a safe but no-frills center while the “parents” are verified.

Where was the outcry when
@DineshDSouza and Paul Manafort were separated from their children when they were sent to jail? - 1 more reply

IMPORTANT to note this article is from January 2016. It's the Obama administration who placed children with traffickers. But few in the MSM reported on it...just the press.

I have an idea - if you don't wish for your kids to be yanked from your arms, then don't enter another country illegally. It's simple, really.

You can’t tell me that securing these children in safe clean fasciities isn’t better than risking putting them at risk of slave labor and/or sexual exploitation.Until Dems stop using this as a political chip and join Rep. in formulating legislation this is safest choice for kids

Actually that would be the poor childrens parents fault as they were using the children in the commision of a crime. The US Government is not these baby's daddy...

YAWNS! Welcome to America. And why did these South Americans not seek asylum in Mexico??? Because there are no handouts. Speaking of handouts those days are over. Welcome to America a land of laws. Do it right or expect to be detained and charged as the criminal you would be.

That's no surprise, given the numbers involved. The easiest solution? Not allowing anyone in except through legal, orderly channels. Our system isn't broken because it takes a long time. That's actually proof it works.
-
Change the Asylum law. This is what takes so long and causes the separation. Why does the US have to grant Asylum? Why not Mexico or another country? Why are we the worlds answer to all the problems?
-
Other countries do grant asylum, and it would be less traumatic for asylum seekers to move to nations with a culture similar to the one they're used to: all of Central and South America.
