Since Day 1, DPRK has been committed to the reunification of the peninsula under Communist control. Any agreement to end hostilities has to deal with that issue. For Kim to recognize SoKor as a sovereign state would be to betray his father’s and grandfather’s trust. Unlikely.
-
You probably know much more than I do. But I will go on a limb--because I sometimes like a longshot--and predict reunification in the not too distant future. That's just based on nothing but gut feeling after visit to Korea and DMZ and some informal discussions I had.

-
It was not only the US that fought for S. Korea. If you've been to DMZ you've seen the flags of all the countries that fought for S. Korea. It was a noble action b/c the world, under UN auspices, fought for S. Korea. The Conflict was fought under CharterArt 7 & shld end by UN/Res
