Where do I see the candidates policies, proposed solutions, and who is funding them? #transparency I'd like to invite all candidates to our discussion forum here to debate the policies that you all support or don't https://teams.microsoft.com/join/4hzg580p3mrk …

I'm curious - are the priorities listed in order? Single Payer is 1st? How do you envision accomplishing that? Where does voter engagement with our elected leaders and making participation easy rank?

Speaking for myself on my own behalf: there’s a wealth of evidence that single payer is more efficient, and brings overall health cost down. Expanding Medicare is a sensible way to get there. There are hybrid models out there too.https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collection/health-spending-u-s-compare-countries/#item-spendingcomparison_gdp-per-capita-and-health-consumption-spending-per-capita-2019 …

It’s important to note that our platform is an expression of shared values. Delegates are not elected officials, and do not have any ability to directly craft policy. Voter engagement and participation are huge concerns, I agree much improvement is needed.

Delegates should have opinions about how to make change. Shared values, while great, doesn't move the ball forward. Hence the need to voter engagement with not only elected leaders but our delegates :-)

Two days ago, my D8 rep held a town hall with @chesaboudin and police officers and staff with 196 people attending on zoom. It was ineffective and waste of time (2 hours x 196 people). They were talking AT voters rather than engaging WITH voters.

Twitter and NextDoor are not conducive to thoughtful discussions on policy issues and effective steps to make change and therefore, progress. They make for good marketing platform for people but not real progress. We are *progress(ive)* after all :-)

I don’t think Nextdoor allows campaigning. I don’t hang out there or on FB much. I find Twitter allows nuance, but requires you to be concise. That’s a good combination for me, as I am juggling a lot and can’t spend hours on every topic.

Obviously I’m here talking with you 1-1. Written word allows a little more thought, the constraints keep it concise. And the public nature allows others to review - even much later. I do Zooms too, but on Twitter I can talk to multiple people in parallel and still parent my kids.

I presented my theory of change, with the caveat I won’t be directly making that change. I’m also not an expert on everything. My primary focus is on small business, where I have some expertise. You have my thoughts on healthcare, but I’m not holding myself out as an expert.
