    Dr. Jason McElyea told my colleague Friday, "That original story was just a little misquoted ... As the story ran, it sounded like all Oklahoma hospitals were filled with people who had overdosed on ivermectin. That's not the case." More on at 6 o'clock.

    NEW: Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin says an American family is out of Afghanistan. He shared this photo of a woman named Mariam & her 3 kids, who left the country at 4:30AM Monday (CT). Mullin confirmed to Fox News he tried to enter Afghanistan to rescue Americans.

    This comes as health leaders say Oklahoma hospitals are stretched to the limit b/c of a high # of COVID patients. More than 1,500 currently hospitalized with COVID. The NE region of Oklahoma (outside Tulsa) is reporting just 1 ICU bed available. Tulsa region has 7.

    NEW: Health experts say a new variant is in Oklahoma. OU Health says at least 4 people in OK have gotten the Mu variant. It's believed to have originated in Colombia in January. Researchers don't know if it's more contagious like the Delta variant. |

    The Washington Post reports that Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin has been trying to get to Afghanistan for a rescue mission, despite warnings from the Pentagon & State Department for him not to go. It’s being reported that nobody knows where he is.

    NEW: Tulsa Public Schools says teachers "will wear masks while inside [their] buildings" starting Monday, August 30. On Tuesday, September 7th, TPS says students will also need to do the same.
