One kid is at high school entrance exams, the other being babysat by my 80 something neighbors. I'm in dialysis and the wife is at a funeral. Once I get home, I'm heading out on a camping trip. This isn't a weekend, just a continuation of our crazy week.

Between late night costume builds and the usual schlepping to karate and dance classes, yeah.

Sounds like a rough one. What's camping trip for? Scouts?

Yes, first official one for M. And, of course, the weather is just going to get colder and windier.

Fun! But yeah terrible night for it. It’s bad here too.

And I'm supposed to be cooking over the campfire. Talk about degraded skill set...

That's kind of the problem. Someone else bought the food, so I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be cooking.

With Scouts, it's usually scrambled eggs & bacon for breakfast and dinner is hot dogs & beans. Here in AZ, lunch is usually the sandwiches the kids make themselves. Easy peasy.

We tried out the Dutch oven last night with a banana cake recipe. Left it in the fire too long and it looked like a burnt meteor, but the interior was perfect. Breakfast was (sadly) granola bars. I took the boy out to eat at a local spot.
