Taliban advancing has meant further violence, unprecedented (in 20 years) levels of internal displacement, unlawful killings of civilians,restrictions on women, panic, uncertainty & fear. If the violence continues, there will be further misery, atrocities, full scale catastrophe
Everyone, the US, the regional countries specially Pakistan, Taliban, the Afghan gov, political “leaders”, everyone who COULD & did not do more for ceasefire & negotiations, is responsible for this misery. Afghans are losing lives, livelihoods & rights, today & future is at stake
There is still time to prevent complete destruction & further suffering. Taliban! Afghans & the world have asked you repeatedly to agree 2 ceasefire & talks. By denying, even if you “win”, you have lost the possibility of better future. Stop this mad drive for power. Save lives

Twenty years is a very long time, in all these years Afghanistan could not even protect its own people. Why ? This is a big question! And why is no one talking about it?

Yes, the last 20 years has been a succession of abject failures by the U.S. & regional powers in the effort to train up security forces and build a strong, stable government. Apparently, we haven't the slightest idea of how to handle this. Best to keep failing for another 20 yrs?
20 years and $88 billion of US money to train your military forces and they rolled over in a matter of days. Let’s not play the blame game now. Plenty could’ve been done on your part but wasn’t.
