People in Jowzjan have been struggling with this for several years as the space has continued to shrink. My own aunts would go to villages to teach but they can no longer go to Taliban controlled areas & girls of a certain age are no longer allowed to study.https://twitter.com/fahimabed/status/1394247899802968065 …

Additionally, as the report also notes, there are restrictions on the curriculum, more "religious" content, less space for professional women & women's public role. Women's rights to education & employment, which are also recognized by Islam, has been severely curtailed by Taliban

My aunts & mom are teachers, they were educated in pre-Taliban & Mujahidin area, their schools were also burnt down & closed by Mujahideen fighters at one point, now they have to watch the space closing again for themselves & a younger generation of girls.

I remember a group of Turkmen girls, the first generation of women in their families & communities, asking my aunt to either take them in to live with her in town, or 2 convince Taliban 2 allow them 2 study. Our aspirations, dreams & rights as Afg women are under constant attack
