This is just my extended family but there are many more women living lives different than their moms/parents. Their achievements was made possible by the opening post 2001 yes, but also their courage & initiative & families’ support & in some cases despite family’s restrictions.

Closure of public space for women or return of Taliban will risk everything these women have fought for, but they won’t disappear. They are here & they will keep fighting in any way they can. As Afghan women did during the Taliban gov, before & since.
