On peace process: more concern than hope, due 2 continued bloodshed & lack of trust in intentions of parties. Concern around prisoner release from victims rights perspective & also fear of return of d released to war. Demands to preserve human rights gains & cultural heritage.
Victims families: justified anger & mistrust due to lack of proper investigation, lack of access to justice, truth & reparation, lack of voice in d peace process. Clear demands for truth, accountability, grantees of non-repetition.
Despite relative security, people of Bamyan have been directly impacted by the current conflict: losing loved ones as members of ANDSF and/or as civilians working & studying across Af or traveling. There r also victims of civil war & Taliban period. Healing is yet to happen.
Bamyan has witnessed greater social & cultural change due to its relative security but a lot more needs to happen. In achieving lasting peace across Af ending the violence & restoring security will be just the 1st step. We will all need to have the commitment to do much more.
