I met
@AhrdoAfg team to discuss victim-centered approach 2 peace & d obstacles to justice n Afg. As a nation, we r burdened with grievances & a sense of injustice. Lasting peace is not possible without attending to our shared wounds & overcoming d sense of injustice & victimhood.Show this thread -
Today, I met another group of my personal heroes: women in media. Afg women in media have to fight on several fronts every day: social pressure, difficult & unsupportive work environments & insecurity. Afg women in media are a symbol of the progress made & challenges that remain.

I also listened to our colleagues in Kabul and heads of our offices in Faryab, Helmand, Badakhshan & Gardez. Their spirit of activism despite d shrinking space inspired me & reminded me that human rights activism has a long (pre 2001) history in Af & will continue 4 years to come
