Yesterday, I saw private guard in Kabul playing with a 2-year-old. He then “playfully” handed his rifle to the child. And then “playfully” asked him to pose with it! The baby, obviously being smaller than the gun, fell over, and everyone around thought it was so funny.

The only person, apart from me, who was upset about this was a taxi driver. Nearly everyone else thought it was so cute/adorable/funny that the baby was playing the real live gun. I’ve seen plenty of toy weapons around Kabul before, but this was more disturbing.

This is horrible. It always makes me so mad to see kids with toy guns, real guns or in military uniforms. It is so wrong on so many levels.
