1/8 @drops_afg is an Af research organization led by d incredible Mariam Safi. @drops_afg conducts research & also provides training & capacity building. Mariam & her colleagues work patiently 4 months with young Af researchers & writers to produce Women & Public Policy Journal.

2/8 I learned about @Nai_Qala’s remarkable work on health & education n central Afg through a exhibition in @ackuafghanistan. I then met d inspiring Taiba Rahim & learned about her commitment 2 educate. @Nai_Qala’s grassroots approach &its focus on rural Af inspires me. #IWD2019

3/8 @solaafghanistan led by committed & capable @sbasijrasikh gives me hope. @solaafghanistan works 2 build a better future 4 Af through investing in education of young woman leaders from across d country. @sbasijrasikh’s presistent dedication is an inspiration. #IWD2019

4/8 @FreeWomenWriter is run by my incredible sister @NoorjahanAkbar & a team f volunteers. Noorjahan has been a fearless & tireless rights activist & feminist 4 many years. @FreeWomenWriter gives af women a platform 2 discuss issues from education 2 domestic violence. #IWD2019⁠

5/8 Kadbanu is a woman-run restaurant 4 female customers n Faizabad, Badakhshan, set up & run by young businesswoman & mother, Simin Karim. Kadbanu is 1 of d many examples of Afg women entering business & evidence that Af women's aspirations have changed across Af. #IWD2019

6/8 Being a female athlete is a tremendous act of courage in Af & all Afg female athletes are my heroes. Special recognition 4 @khalida_popal 4 her dedication 2 @AfghanistanWnt & 4 her courage n exposing sexual abuse & corruption despite risks & threats. #IWD2019
