First, his last job was as an Assistant Public Defender here in SF, which means he’s not a cop and his sole reason for living is NOT to lock you up and throw away the key. 3/7

Second,both his parents spent his childhood in prison so he has an intimate knowledge of the prison system and how f*cked up it is.Third,he used to be a public defender which also means he knows the SFPD ain't sh!t when it comes to the treatment of minorities n the inner city.4/7

Fourth,every life prisoner who committed a crime in SF and whose been incarcerated for more than 15 years now, he’s giving them the opportunity to come home. And finally, because he doesn’t believe in the death penalty, he took everyone sentenced to die in SF off of death row.5/7

I then told the brother, “I know you gotta get yo bag, but all money ain’t good money. Just make sure that while you getting yours, you ain’t setting us all back.” He didn’t say a word, he just shook my hand and gave me a hug. 7/7
