I'm tired. Maybe of rich dudes in tech telling us how to be successful, because that formula only works for specific kinds of people (and I know so many wonderful people who don't fit that mold). Maybe I wish we'd approach the very idea of "success" in more egalitarian terms.
wondering in good faith if your frustration is misdirected. He outrightly states that achieving baseline success is done "through privilege or effort." & although the piece is called "How To Be Successful," he notes in-text that he is talking specifically about "outlier success"

Internal versus external locus of control. If internal, you look at what you can do to control your life. If external, you're always a victim of external forces. Which one enables you to act? Which one makes you cry about excuses?
