    Interesting note on sexual selection (female choice and male intrasexual competition) "male reproductive skew based on competition for mates, and female reproductive skew based on access to resources that affect fecundity" - i.e. female fertility is dependent on body fat.

    Obit for Judith Rich Harris. People misread The Nurture Assumption as a "no" to the question "Do parents matter?" For the survival & flourishing of children on a day-to-day basis of course they do! If your parenting goal is outcome as adults, not so much.
