Pretty sure the point is progressive media's repeated willingness to make gross generalisations about white people that would rightly be considered offensive when made about any other group. Which, even if you don't think it's racist, is extremely poor strategy for the Left.

There was no generalisation being made in the article. The editors went with an inappropriate headline. I discussed it with them. They agreed to change it to better suit the actual content. Your entire argument falls down.

Again, this is a phenomenon that thousands of WoC have said happens to them. I have had white women write to me to tell me they see it too. Quit being reactionary and dishonest.

The headline is the biggest problem (new or old, both bad), which is why I highlighted it. I’m sure if a major media outlet titled an article “How Arab/Black/Asian women use tears to avoid accountability” you’d have some harsh things to say about it. As would I.

Okay. Keep missing the point. Can’t help you if your obtuseness is genuine rather than...strategic.

Brown women can’t use their tears to deflect criticism in a white dominated society because said society does not care about the pain of brown women...that is the point my dude, the point you refuse to concede.

How tiresome when we are trying to discuss how power dynamics play out on an interpersonal scale, & along come obtuse reactionaries to twist it all to fit an ideological narrative. You are harping on racial characteristics; we are discussing power - who has it & how they wield it

Even worse that you admit the headline is the problem - you tried to string up an independent freelance writer, not on her own words, but on how someone else (with more power than her) presented and introduced them

If the progressive media corporation that runs your articles insists on giving them race-baity, clickbaity headlines that piss off a lot of people, I suggest you take it up with them.

Lol. So in the meantime, you come after me. Good job.

The original Tweet criticized the headline of an article in a major publication. It did not “come after” you. Are Guardian headlines off limits now?
