The Guardian just wrote this pretty cool article about my biohacking experiments. I'd phrase some things differently. Especially around relationships. Which I value much more than the article suggests. But mostly... https://www.facebook.com/sergef/posts/10104134208405013 …
my doctors have been digging around the IGF-1 question for years. here's one podcast of theirs touching this https://peterattiamd.com/rhondapatrick/ . you have to trade my cancer vs neuro risks; know my IGF-1 dynamics etc. much more nuanced than "go as low as possible" which you seem to suggest.

Animal intervention studies also give more cause and effect evidence showing that low IGF-1 levels are beneficial in some ways.

And I have seen some studies showing that people with polymorphism in genes that result in lower IGF-1 signaling have increased life span. That's a cause and effect evidence strongly indicative of average to low-average levels being better than high levels.

You cannot base your decisions almost exclusively on epidemiological studies. An association between low IGF-1 and increased mortality does not prove a cause and effect one. Genetic studies give more evidence on cause and effect.

Also it's not just the cancer risk I consider mainly bad about higher IGF-1 for longevity, it's the fact that it increases mTOR and other pathways that accelerate aging even if you never get cancer.

I'm aware of the potential negatives of low IGF-1 for the brain and am not suggesting to go as low as possible. But I am suggesting staying on the low end of the normal range.
