Its a dumb racist joke, but its a joke nevertheless. I don't like crowder at all. But I don't think we should encourage censorship and illiberal policies for our political enemies.

What is and isn't considered a joke is ultimately arbitrary, so I don't know why this point keeps being made. Are you suggesting YouTube should be obligated to platform and monetize racism?

Sounds very clear cut when you put it that way, except that reality is not that simple. I think its a racist joke, but I don't think its racism, because I don't know if it represents an actual prejudicial stance. I can make a make a murder joke without being a murderer.

That's a criteria that can't be met because we can never get inside someone's head to know intent. It's possible to make a murder joke that's indistinguishable from a threat or incitement. Was it racism? All I can do is judge the effects of his speech, which I consider harmful.

If you need to know the intent to know whether it was racist or not, it wasn't racist. In order to be able to think you have to risk offense. You're free to not listen to what you do not wish, you are not free to impose restrictions on others.

You got things backwards. You're the one advocating for government imposing restrictions on others by forcing social media companies to platform & monetize Crowder's racist "jokes". You can argue that we should, but don't pretend it's not more authoritarian.

I am not saying the government should impose anything, I am saying we shouldn't support companies that do so, also I am not talking about monetization, I am talking about censorship.

If you're just advocating for a boycott then I'm not against it. But that's not what you argued last time.

Yeah and I stand by that, but this is different. Different aspects of corporate structure should be dealt with in different ways.
