Women's equality isn't an add on. It's not something you do after lunch and it's not just a nice to have.
Women's equality is good economic policy and that was recognised unanimously at the Jobs and Skills Summit.
The Comoro Community Health Centre provides primary healthcare services to the western side of Dili.
It was terrific to see work dedicated health professionals, trained through Australian funded programs, are doing through the refurbished emergency room.
I also saw the great work between the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and WorldFish.
Together, they are mobilising scientific capability to improve livelihoods and nutrition.
Wonderful to hear from some powerful Timor-Leste women during my visit to Dili.
They spoke about driving economic change and diversification in their country.
We also discussed ways Australia can support better outcomes for women through our development program.
Today I represented 🇦🇺 at the G20 Digital Economy Ministers’ Meeting in Bali. It was a chance to share views on connectivity, digital skills & cross-border data flows. We look forward to working with G20 economies to leverage digitalisation for post-pandemic recovery.

Good talks today with the PNG National Rugby League Bid Board, including Chairman Wapu Sonk, on their ambition for a PNG team to enter the NRL. The potential for more PNG players in the NRL & a PNG NRL club is very exciting for someone like me who idolised Adrian Lam growing up.
We had some really thoughtful questions from students. We discussed the transformative power of education and the importance of the next generation of PNG’s women leaders finding their voice.
I was so impressed by the students I met at Sogeri National School of Excellence.

In a battle on the Sanananda Track, Frank tried to save his friend from a dangerous position.
Frank was shot and killed.
He was just 27 years old.
He, and the many who rest alongside him, are a reminder of our profound ties with PNG and the acute human cost of conflict.
They endured horrific battles on the Kokoda Track and suffered heavy casualties. In just a few months, fewer than 100 men would be left.
Frank’s brother was evacuated but Frank stayed on, using his bush skills to collect drinking water.
More than 3,800 Commonwealth service members rest here on Koiari land, including more than 3,300 Australians.
Among them is Pte Frank Archibald, a Gumbaynggirr man, and a member of the 2/2nd Infantry Battalion
The 700-strong battalion was directed to Port Moresby in Sept 1942.

Australia’s relationship with PNG is profoundly important.
