Being Hispanic myself and living in an area of New Mexico that can be pretty damned rough......that is NOT at all a racist cartoon. It is the TRUTH. Now stop trying to speak for us Hispanics. Period. We do NOT need a white man speaking for us.

So, you have a lot of experience with MS 13, do you? I don't think you get the point of the cartoon. Also, some of the officials who signed off on the censure are Hispanic.
-
And? Let the Hispanic community settle it ourselves. And YES we have the unfortunate experience of rampant crime.....mainly from Hispanics. Many people are afraid to come to the area we live in. When police are around two to three times a week, copters too. So wrong.
-
What does that have to do with conflating MS 13 with the Dreamers?
-
Many of the Dreamers ARE criminals.https://www.cato.org/publications/immigration-research-policy-brief/dreamer-incarceration-rate …
-
Did you read that piece? Even though it is from a right-wing organization, it confirms that Dreamers are incarcerated at a lower rate than their non-Dreamer cohort. Also, there is the fact that not all Dreamers are Hispanic.
-
And? I didn't say they had bigger crime rates. I said many of them are criminals. Once again.....you bypass the facts and go straight for the emotional terrorism. Too hot of chile for you?

Have a day.

Oh in short WE THE PEOPLE denounce YOU both. As the real racists.
-
Please, explain how they are racists. Be sure to use facts, not opinions.
-
Why? They didn't use facts. And just like you, they used EMOTIONALISM. So about you tell them and you yourself use FACTS. Green Chile huh? I'm more of a Red Chile dude myself.

We can disagree strongly on issues but we should never forget basic human dignity. We need to treat each other with respect no matter who you are.
-
@RepStevePearce, the way you have disregarded, ignored, and condescended to your constituents makes me think you need to look up the meaning of respect; and, your recurring votes against your constituents' best iterests are not consistent with "basic human dignity" - 1 more reply

Thank you for your efforts to unite, not divide, New Mexicans. Just like this cartoon, some of the negative comments on this post are truly disappointing. We can do better than this, neighbors - let's not stereotype each other.

See, She was really hating on Trump/GOP which is OK in NM. ...The editor...said...the cartoon “appeared to us to be poking at President Trump’s rhetoric by portraying a quaking [GOP] couple who were painting Dreamers with a broad, totally false, brush.”https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.nytimes.com/2018/02/08/us/dreamers-cartoon-albuquerque-journal.amp.html …

I have no idea why the left is pretending to love illegal aliens. They could have had a path to citizenship if they'd accepted Trump's deal. Instead, they're throwing DACA recipients under the bus because they were never anything more than tools and potential voters to the left.

Having people challenge you is a bitch, isn’t it? The cartoon is divisive, but I doubt it would have the impact it did if every Dem in NM didn’t jump on it. I’m more convinced that you are trying to shut down meaningful conversation about Dreamer reform that doesn’t fit your view
