Average people don't do their job, they get fired. New law, if GOV gets shutdown, everyone in Congress gets fired. Out of office and not able to ever run 4 office again. Rich politicians born w/silver spoon up their butt, have no idea how real people live.

Wouldn’t a law like this make it all but impossible for people who aren’t independently wealthy to run for office?

It would make it impossible for the non-wealthy MOCs to continue to support a leader who refuses to bring bills to the floor (thereby harming other non-wealthy federal workers) because he fears a potus temper tantrum. Funding govt is the job of legislative branch. Do the job.
