You’re smarter than to simplify this situation! These older planes require extensive Maintenance & Inspection, which won’t/can’t be done unless their owners are properly compensated B4 the season. Pls try for comprehensive solutions; thinning, defensible space, zoning laws, etc
There are devastating fires burning across the country & we need more, not fewer, air tankers in service. If a major fire breaks out, Arizona communities may be at risk.
