On the evening of 1/20/09, Mitch McConnell stated that for the next 4 yrs, his job was to make Pres. Obama a one-term President. When Antonin Scalia died more than a year before the end of the presidential term, your party, to the person, refused even to talk w/ Merritt Garland.

Now your party is nominating people who have not even basic knowledge of the jobs for which they are being confirmed. You should be hanging your heads in shame.

Why do you continue to demonize the other side of the isle? It would be much better for the country if you would stop that crap and instead say you want to work with the "Dems", for the sake of the country to make sure no more swamp monsters get approved.

It would be great if Dem. would work with Rep. and Rep, would work with Dem. for the good of our country!!

At that time, they were not in cahoots with the Russians. You guys are. We can't trust you. You lost the public trust long ago, you just haven't noticed. And don't talk about gridlock when you guys invented it from the day Obama was inaugurated.

So the Dems are hypocritical for supporting it then but not now, but Rep's are patriotic for supporting it now, but not then?

Why should they.....the GOP obstruct everything Obama wanted to get done for 8 years and now the party in control, which is so dysfunctional, needs to change the rules in order to get things done. Sad state the

Pruitt has to go! I prefer he go to federal prison. But, really anywhere. No more jobs for him! It’s no damn wonder people who have never been to Oklahoma think we all still ride the range on Paint Ponies. Side note (I have nothing against a good cattle drive or Paint Ponies) 2

Just stop. There is nothing that you can accuse the Dems of that the GOP has not done 10x worse. And while you’re spouting this nonsense, the GOP principles in your own state are a travesty for teachers and education. Just stop.

Gosh James! The Republicans have control of the Senate, the House and the Oval Office. Gridlock belongs to the Republicans!
-
So I take it you oppose the 60 out of 100 vote. Thank you. Most Dems want to be obstructionist, blame the GOP knowing it takes at least 9 Dems to cross party lines to pass anything in the Senate.
-
Were you asleep for the entirety of the Obama administration? Republicans literally met the day of the first inauguration and planned how they'd obstruct anything Obama tried to do. They unconstitutionally blocked Merrick Garland. Hypocrisy is now a party platform apparently.

-
They did was they was voted in to do! Blocking garland was not unconstitutional or they couldn’t have done it!
-
You need to read more. No where in the constitution does it say a nomination can/should be held up in an election year. There are 5 examples in history where justices were nominated and confirmed in an election year. You think thwarting the constitution slows the GOP down? Cute
-
Doesn’t say that they can’t do it. I’m not saying it’s right, but I am happy Garland didn’t get confirmed.
-
The way it's being done now by the Dems is perfectly legal as Lankford has stated...they just don't like it. The GOP is seeking to change the law to speed the process...which I'm not necessarily against. But the GOP crying obstruction is abjectly laughable.
-
It’s legal. Nothing we can do. They either need to change a law and always require 60 on any confirmation or to always have a speedy one, make it 51!
