Since 1974, Congress has done a budget correctly only four times total. Yes, we desperately need budget reform. But it is absolutely nonsensical for Democrats to shutdown the government for reasons unrelated to budget and spending matters.

W/adr .@SenatorLankford reiterating a false narrative that dems are to blame is taking the easy way out. Okie's expect their reps to rise above divisive talking points.

So, 5 Republicans and 48 Dems said no, but it’s still Republicans fault? Hmmm....

This is a hard thing for me to rap my head around a women for Trump group. How can any woman have voted for this grabbing pervert over Hillary 56 percent of white women did makes no sense to me, after all his year of insane nasty tweets and his unpresidential crap still support

Why didn’t the dems vote to fund the chip extension. There is nothing in the clean spending resolution the dems were against. I’m happy to hear otherwise.

That’s the thing-they did! There was a bipartisan deal that Trump rejected. This all was avoidable.

There actually have been TWO bipartisan deals in the last ten day. Trump (Miller and Kelly actually) killed both. Now there is no reason to believe Trump or GOP are negotiating in good faith.

I keep hearing that. What was different about the bipartisan bill? Why couldn’t Schumer get his guys to fund this budget bill. There was nothing in the bill dems didn’t want. Funded chip. I like facts from both sides. Thanks

Trump reneged...twice. The mistake being made is the GOP Congress not seeing themselves as "separate but equal", and thus find themselves at the mercy of a POTUS who is, to be kind, mercurial. Congress should come to an agreement, put it on Trump's desk. That's their job.

The #RepublicanShutDown was caused by you and @realDonaldTrump. Look at your work for the past year and it is clear the @GOP felt it could push through anything without working with Democrats (ie #TaxReform). This falls at your feet and you know it. Enjoy your #TrumpShutdown.pic.twitter.com/RWyanOCyIb

@GOP @POTUS You have done nothing but vilify the Democrats this entire year. You have repeatedly stated you don't want their input on anything, you don't need them. You changed rules so you could get a Supreme Court Justice. Now you blame them for shutting down the government?
