Religious liberty does not exist because of America... America exists because of religious liberty. I was honored to join AG Jeff Sessions and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein today to speak at the @TheJusticeDept Religious Liberty Summit. Oh...I’m sorry that no one told you but America existed before it was colonized. A very strong argument can be made that says religious liberty actually has destroyed America. #oklahoma

I'm a constituent. You don't care about anyone's liberty unless they are just like you. This makes me sick.

I'm guessing that you did not watch the video nor have you truly followed his actions. He has defended the faith of those who disagree very strongly with his own faith. Eg, Islam, Jehovah Witness, etc.

I don't think that's quite what Sessions had in mind when he created this 'task force', which defends the rights of others to impose their beliefs on and to discriminate at will against anyone they please. If Lankford supports Sessions in this, then he supports discrimination.

@ritamayfield2 I seem to remember that u & I had a respectful disagreement before. So I'm also curious if you have read the actual guidance from Sessions. It seems to me to forbid any Fed discrimination against any reasonable religion/action/inaction. https://www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/1001891/download?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery …

Yes, I have read it. I also listened to him and to Senator Lankford. I think we will have another of those respectful disagreements. We can debate the different elements in the guidance, but for me it come down to this. I can practice my religion and faith up to the point and at

which time it produces a hardship for, or discriminates against another person. I say this not according to some legal rending, but because this is what God expects of me. To love all as God loved me, without merit undeservedly. We will disagree on who gets to decide what is

"any reasonable religion/action/inaction" key word being reasonable. If I provide a service to furnish a product, I don't get to choose not to serve a person because they are gay. To say my religion forbids this activity doesn't mean I are being forced to participate

Puritans came to this country because they were being persecuted in England. As soon as they stepped off the boat they began persecuting Native Americans. You are doing the same now. Persecution of people who you do not agree with. SHAME ON YOU!

Josh, nobody is ever ‘honored’ to meet Sessions, he’s a dick. Secondly, everyone thinks what you mean by ‘religious liberty’ is Christians getting to ‘practice’ their religion by being racist, homophobic, classist assholes to the rest of us. Your religion isn’t wanted in politics

The separation of church and state is to keep the state from making a mandatory state church. That's why we have #FreedomofReligion. Read up on history. Then you won't tweet ignorant twaddle.
