I think any nominee who lies right out of the gate and figuratively kisses the ass of a president constantly embroiled in scandals and controversies is not someone who should warrant much consideration before a "hard pass."

I don/t think anyone who lies anytime is someone who should warrant much consideration. But we must remember our senator is a past master of obfuscation, doublespeak and even outright lies, so he would be looking for a "bird of like feathers".

I think any jurist who holds the opinion that a president shouldn’t be bothered with indictments or investigations should be put on hold until the PRESIDENT UNDER INVESTIGATION has been cleared or charged. Oh, you mean like our current president???

A jurist who says that a sitting president cannot be indicted is not fit to serve on the SCOTUS! VOTE NO!

Does the Constitution state the President is above the law & cannot be indicted? NO! Kavanaugh wants to create his own law!

So Senator, respectfully do you think the lack of solutions to many problems can be attributed to Congress not doing their jobs for so many years? Not legislating?

We already know what you want, you want Biblical laws to be the law of the land. Isn't Christian law the same thing as Sharia law? You would still be imposing your own religion on others against their will. Shame on you for trying to destroy the Constitution.

You claim to want a court bound by the law, yet you are always looking to and for new justices who will overturn Roe...the law of the land for decades. You can't have it both ways. You should know by now you can't legislate morality. Even Jesus doesn't advocate for that. Just U
-
I absolutely believe The best and effective way to overturn Roe is by changing the hearts and minds of the American people. However, can you find a law that does NOT legislate morality?
-
Dozens. I am not going to waste my time listing them all. One would be that if you drive an automobile you must have a license. Most laws are put in place to combat chaos and anarchy. I was speaking to personal choices about what is right or what is wrong. Yes hearts have to
-
I'm in partial agreement. From a purely philosophical point, creating laws to combat chaos & anarchy are still moral decisions. They may be morals that practically everyone agrees to. Or they may be moral decisions that vary between societies. 1/2

I have certain principles by which I live. These were formed from a variety of different things. I try to obey civil laws, it is not necessarily b/c of a particular law. I do not steal b/c there is a law against it but b/c I think it wrong to steal based on MY moral principles.
-
If there was no law against stealing, I still would not take someting that belonged to someone else. You might say that is b/c of my religion, but I knew stealing was wrong before I became a Christian. I have shed the label evangelical b/c it has become sullied and misused.
-
I don't steal for many reasons. How much weight each reason carries has changed as I grew. I was taught stealing was wrong, learned stealing hurts relationships, feared being punished, Bible says it's wrong (and I want healthy relationship with GOD), & civil society needs trust.
-
While we might not agreed on a few things, I know I would enjoy sitting down with you to dialogue face-to-face.
