You waited days to sign a letter, with a group of other Senators, that you know won’t amount to a hill of beans. Big deal. Have you ever stood up for something important on your own? If you have to dither about children in cages, you’re not fit for office.

I think he deserves credit for signing this letter, not scorn.
-
I disagree. He’s a very powerful man with a staff, budget, & office. He’s the one who constantly puts his faith on display & holds himself out as a moral leader. Signing a group letter cost him nothing. He’s waffled for days. His letter is based on politics & public pressure.
-
Baby steps are still steps. Any sign of a spine in DC Republicans, I’ll take.
-
He wins. Everyone loses. He gets accolades. Nothing changes.
-
Apparently no Republicans pushed back in their meeting with POTUS tonight. Zero. I’ll give credit to Republicans like Lankford when their words match meaningful action.

12? The entire democratic caucus has been chugging at this for a while now, glad the notice finally made it to your office. This is not a partisan issue, good grief.
-
It is a partisan if you are trying to mollify the segment of the voting base that supports this and has no problem with terrified 4-year-olds crying until they vomit because they have no idea where their parents are.

This is a good start, but if you truly want to fix this problem why aren’t you cosponsoring S.3036? The President has called on Congress to fix the legislation and there is already a bill waiting for Republican support. Please put party aside & stand on the right side of history

Good start. Now cosponsor s.3036 so we know you’re serious. Also, change the language from illegally to “for various reasons, including seeking asylum, which is legal,” in your letter.

Thanks. I know you're far right wing but you're correct here. I'm in Bixby. I was an active Rep voter until Trump. Now I'm a Dem activist.
-
Thank you, Anne, for doing what’s right. :)

Thank you for the statement. If you're serious, 12 Senators have a lot of leverage to make this happen besides releasing a statement. Please approve no judicial or agency appointments and put a stop to the administration's legislative priorities until this travesty is stopped.

Senator, I appreciate that you like the idea of keeping families together but writing a letter just isn't enough. Co-sponsoring S3036 would be an actual move in the right direction. Children are being torn from their parents and kept in cages in the United States! This is not OK!

Why can't you be a leader and co-sponsor S 3036? show you want to work as a legislative body. The world is watching, and you are looking bad, sir.
