Civility also means voting to keep families together rather than ripping them apart at gunpoint and to provide health care to people too sick and poor to afford it. When will you start voting with civility?

Both also spoke out against racism, injustice - quite unlike our President and Congressional Republicans like you Sen Collins. History will not be kind to you
-
History will not be kind to any GOP Senators or Congressman who allowed Trump’s unprecedented attack on the rule of law to go completely unchecked.

Looking forward to you civilly using your powers as a US Senator to reunite the families separated by your Republican administration

Then, Senator Collins, why do you not demand some civility from Trump? Who is holding him accountable for his abhorrent tweets and actions? Do we not deserve better? It’s not about freedom of speech...it’s about civility.

Perfectly stated!

Ed Krassenstein tweet: In 2012, bakery owner Chris McMurray refused to serve Joe Biden because he disagreed with something Obama said. Later that year, Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan Presidential ticket asked McMurray to introduce Paul Ryan during a campaign speech. STOP BEING HYPOCRITES!

I think Obama has also done an extraordinary job of not hitting back at Trump despite hundreds of Trump hate tweets directed at him. At least Obama has class and dignity.

You are right Mr. Britt. Each of these Presidents (until now) regardless of party has good manners. Not many rude comments coming from any of them. Usually very inspiring and uplifting words. Can’t imagine Bush or Clinton having daily tweets about controversy.

Your silence on the blatant lies, abuses of power, abuses of people and contempt for Americans is complicity. Is that the legacy you want? It is in your power to respond through action and words instead of pretending that everything is ok. It's not. We are hurting.

You support a man who grabs pussy, supports a pedophile, mocks the handicapped, steals children, speaks in racist and bigoted language, lies daily...and you are talking about civility? You need to turn in your human card, hon.

That might be what I would say as well, Senator Collins, if I was complicit in a mass child hostage-taking policy in order to ransom their lives for a border wall Donald Trump swore up and down Mexico was going to pay for.

civility is easy when you're working from a place of privilege. I'd like to see a lot more principled action, and a lot less blather about civility from those in power right now. The people suffering & those defending them can be forgiven for their frustration.
