Well, here’s the thing: You have an ethics committee. Why is it not being utilized? I don’t have full confidence in these accusations on Franken for a number of reasons. There needs to be an investigation first.

Franken immediately called for his own ethics investigation.
-
Yep, which is why I’m baffled it’s not being done.

Since Trump's sexual actions are even more disturbing, egregious, and abusive, will you also call on him to resign from office?
#TrumpToo -
Senator, as is well-known, there is a long history of accusations of sexual abuse of women by
#TrumpToo. Will you be calling for his removal from office as well? -
#IStandWithFranken#MeToo
I can't believe Dem's are doing this while never making any noise about Trump. They think this the moral high ground, well it looks like hypocrisy & really shameless politics.

Unless something else has come out, nothing Al Franken has done rises to the level of resigning. Sorry, he cannot be in the same class as others.
-
just 7 women who were groped... it's a pattern & he needs to go.
-
Then be prepared for an empty congress.
-
Don't dismiss predatory behavior. I'm not naive... know there are a lot more.

Why does Al Franken have to go when Trump is allowed to remain in office? Double standards?
-
Standards, period; apparently Democrats have them.

1/2 Maria, I agree Franken’s actions are terrible and must be properly punished. I do NOT agree that he should be forced out. My reasons: 1. In the face of Trump and Moore, Democrats need to play using power. Franken should resign only if Trump resigns and Moore withdraws.
-
2/2 To do otherwise is falling into R trap where they get everything and Ds nothing. 2. While reprehensible, Franken’s actions are not on par with Trump’s and Moore’s. There should be some spectrum of punishment for varied degrees of transgression.

Hi Senator. Can I ask why no one is calling for an ethics committee, in the very least, for President Trump. Is he held to a lower standard? Do his accusers deserve to be heard as well?

Perhaps, but I grow concerned that there is no due process. As heartening as it is to see woman's accusations taken seriously and with the gravitas they deserve, I also believe in fairness and a chance for someone to defend their case.
-
I’m other words, you’re intelligent and believe in nuance. What we’re seeing is a response to the norm in our society which was to automatically disbelieve accusers. So we did a 180 and now automatically believe accusers without looking any further. Both are wrong.
-
Exactly my concern...believing the women means believing in their right to tell their story, to be believed, to make a convincing argument. It doesn't mean depriving the rights of the accusers to defend themselves, this was done to women for too long & we should learn, not repeat
