Witness-free trials are common-place in autocracies. Republicans can call as many witnesses as they like, it doesn't mean they will be allowed to testify if they're not relevant.

That’s the GOP bluff.... they say they want to call witnesses but only if it includes the Bidens, thinking the Dems won’t bite. But they know they can’t go all-in with witnesses because they’ll get shellacked, and CJ Roberts may not say the Bidens are relevant.
