"They" "We". The problem starts right there. Look, you can make all the arguments about process you like, but the facts remain: the President of the United States used taxpayer money as leverage on a foreign country to get them to investigate his political rival.

As to the process argument, they're weak. This is how the Nixon impeachment was run, first with a private investigation, then public hearings. It's also how any criminal proceedings go. The police perform a closed investigation, then a grand jury indicts or doesn't.
