“If you read the transcript closely there is no quid pro quo,” Braun explained. “I looked at it and I thought surely there had to be more in there to invest this much time and energy.” https://wibqam.com/news/articles/2019/oct/07/sen-braun-gives-thoughts-on-impeachment-inquiry/944800/ …

Where's your line, Senator? When is enough finally enough? The President admitted to using the powers of his office to ask foreign governments for help in investigating an American citizen. Just because he also does it in the open does not mean it's suddenly okay. 1/4

It’s not a good sign when a govt official sends a written message questioning the propriety of an action and another replies by suggesting they talk on the phone. The implication is that the 2nd official is worried about leaving behind evidence of their conversation. 2/4

The contempt you have for your constituents is breathtaking.

I used to be a Republican because they said they believed in the Rule of Law. Clearly that was a lie. We now follow the Rule of Trump. I expected better than this from you Senator

If you read the text messages closely, you'll see where they almost literally said "hey let's stop texting about the illegal stuff we're doing and call me instead so we can discuss the illegal stuff we're doing." Your disdain for truth is remarkable.

Doesn't matter. He still solicited help. Demand Sondland testify.

        1) There doesn't have to be a quid pro quo. Allow me to introduce you to 52 U.S. Code § 30121. It is illegal for anyone to solicit a thing of value from a foreign national in connection with an election. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/52/30121 …

Dirt on your opponent is definitely a thing of value in an election. If the thing of value is worth more than $25,000, the violation is a felony. An oppo investigation isn't cheap, as I'm sure you know.

It's not a transcript, and you are a very poor reader. The context is obvious. "Mr. President, my country needs these things." "Well, we want to give you those things, but first I need something." Surround that with the President's public requests for foreign campaign help.

Never thought I’d see the GOP walk away from their law & order tenets and support of the Constitution. Any excuse they can dream up - he was kidding; it wasn’t really an offer; they should have been investigated; on and on. Party over country. Hard to watch.
