The number one thing we can do is to move from license to carry into license to purchase, and that includes ammunition. You want to buy a gun or ammunition? You get a license to buy, which includes a background check and must be renewed on a regular basis.

The reason the license to purchase *ammo* is so important is that, otherwise, you had a valid background check when you purchase the weapon and that's it. Could have been 20 years ago, you could be mentally ill or criminal now but weren't then.

There was a police officer on the scene in 30 seconds and 9 people still died. Get rid of the assault weapons or at least make it hard to get bullets. Sandy Hook should have ended this.
