Senator Mike Braun Retweeted The Wall Street Journal

Today’s Social Security/Medicare Trustees report is a dire warning and gives Congress a clear choice: take bold action now with tough solutions to avert the coming financial calamity or kick the can down the road by piling more unsustainable debt on our kids and grandchildren.https://twitter.com/WSJ/status/1120346437202644993 …

And why do you suppose we have that "financial calamity" Mike? Could it be because Congress misused SS funds? And maybe that big tax cut for the rich wasn't such a great idea after all? Don't assume we're stupid Mike. But please do assume we will vote.

I find that adding $1.5 trillion in tax cuts to the wealthiest among Americans to not be helpful in averting this "fiscal calamity." 🤔

Your piling on debt with support of endless wars and tax gifts to those who take most out of our economy. Is this your warning shot for lower benefits? #Medicare4All

The GOP did damage to Medicare with the tax giveaway to billionaires & corporations. Social Security is an easy fix — eliminate/raise the ceiling for contributions. NO CUTS!

Do you have a proposal? I think a start is removing the cap on Social Security taxes to bring additional revenue to the Fund. I'm open to ideas, curious to hear some concrete proposals from you, Senator.

Repeal the Bush tax cuts and the Trump tax cuts. Cap defense spending at 2% of GDP. Those wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were not paid for. Hike taxes on the generation that gleefully wanted to wage war, not cut benefits to the generation that opposed those stup!d wars.

We don't need to pile unsustainable debt on future generations. We just need you to repeal the tax cuts you gave to your wealthy friends.
