Government shutdowns need to stop, but I cannot support our dysfunctional system of out-of-control government spending through a broken process: it would never work in the private sector and it certainly doesn’t work in Washington.

This legislation did not sufficiently address the humanitarian and security crisis on our southern border and left President Trump with no other option than to declare a national emergency, which I support.

You moroñ. If I decreased my revenue to the point I had to significantly borrow to cover my operating expenses, my business would go bankrupt. That's exactly what the Bush & Trump tax cuts have done to this country. Cut tax revenue, blow up the deficit & balloon the debt. #Repeal

Government does not function like business. The solution is simple, raise taxes on the wealthy & corporations. Institute a carbon tax. Raise the Social Security ceiling & lower the limit for the inheritance tax.

You aren't in the private sector any more. The U. S. President doesn't AND SHOULDN'T have as much executive power as the owner of a private company. You serve in a co-equal branch of government, that also happens to control the money. DO YOUR JOB.

It’s the out of control debt that’s the problem. Thanks Republicans.

No private sector company would ever be managing a $4.1 trillion dollar budget. There's a bit of a difference between your $20 million company with thousands of customers and a $4 trillion government with 325 million customers.
