Massive tax cuts to powerful corporations, stock buybacks for CEO’s, and Wisconsin workers are losing their jobs in the Fox Valley. This isn’t right and it’s not fair.http://www.postcrescent.com/story/news/2018/01/31/kimberly-clark-plans-close-two-facilities-fox-cities-part-restructuring/1082610001/ …

Senator you know this plant closure is not related to tax reform, thats disingenuous at best. How many paper mill jobs have been lost in Wisconsin since 1990? 20,000? 40,000? Maybe more? Be honest because your tweet isn't
-
Actually, k-c noted that the tax cut was a factor in their decision
-
Only to give them the ability to restructure They are closing 10 plants worldwide There are more factors at play between unions, off brands, management, world markets than the simple "Tax cut=plant closure" It's tossing red meat and not honest
-
Not sure you get to play the honesty card when you went from “closure is not related to tax reform” to saying it was one of a number of factors in the space between two tweets.
-
Several factors, pretty clear on that The only thing taxes have to do with it is timing Closings were happening regardless of tax reform I don't know how to make it clearer The jobs were gone either way, you do understand it costs money to close facilities

Businesses aren't welfare programs. You want in on the money you work for them and/or invest in them. That's how things have worked since before Nebuchadnezzar.
-
"Workers at Kimberly-Clark produced $3.3 billion in profit last year" i think means they worked for the company, and certainly invested their time and energy. How is being fair to your own workers "welfare"?
-
You're owed NOTHING more than the pay you agreed to when you took the job. I accept this. Why can't you?
-
I can accept the parameters of the job, but i still think the numbers suck. Plus everyone seems to get a big happy bonus right before theyre laid off. Getting filthy rich while your workers are in poverty, or dangling near it, is kinda tasteless.
-
No, it's business. If you can't accept other people doing with their money as they please, then how long till you decide to control what *I* do with my money? It never ends once it starts. There's always someone else to hate, impose on, oppress with righteous glee.

I’d pick a slightly less biased source than Salon. By the way, how much EPA over regulation played a part in this over the last three decades?
-
Because who really needs drinkable water or breathable air, amirite?
-
Or over regulate so that, now, people can’t provide for themselves or their family. Not seeing an upside to your argument. The EPA regulates, but every state does as well. I don’t wake up in the morning thinking the government’s trying to kill me.
-
Well that may be more likely now thanks to Pruitt. But sure deregulate, then limit liability, cut back workman’s comp, underfund education for disabled kids, ..and hey! A worker’s paradise.

Except they are reconfiguring their company to be more efficient and sustainable so they don't have to lay off MORE people or go out of business so.....
-
Explain why with 3.3B in profit, they need to be more efficient?
-
You realize they are a business trying to survive and prosper in a capitalist market, correct? You realize competition in this market gets more fierce everyday, correct? You realize profits are used to increase business and further both micro and macro economies, correct?
