I’ve received tens of thousands of calls & emails from Wisconsinites urging us to protect #NetNeutrality
and a free & open internet. I’m with them, not powerful corporations who will benefit from an unfair, two-tiered system. We must #SaveNetNeutrality

I’m joining my Senate colleagues to introduce a resolution to overturn this decision because we must protect innovators, entrepreneurs and consumers and keep the internet open for everyone.

LOLOL!! I LIVE near Chicago. I DRIVE those roads. They. Are. CRAP!! Full of potholes, always backed-up w/traffic jams, ALWAYS under repair. It takes TWENTY MINUTES to drive THREE MILES in many areas. If that's yr metaphor, u just PROVED to me how much we NEED
#NetNeutrality

But yes... Just like roads, our internet NEEDS govt oversight and involvement. We cannot rely on the private sector 100%, or the average citizens will be the ones to have to deal with the MESS. The working people will have to pay. And pay, and pay, and pay...

No, you misunderstand: I'd charge those using a ridiculous amount of bandwidth for extra bandwidth. That's normal. What ISN'T normal is charging extra for being able to access the app...at all. Oh, you like Twitter? Well, how do u like your ISP charging $9.99/month to access it?!
-
That's what we're talking about. ISPs are now allowed to decide what you do & don't have access to, and they can charge you through the nose for low-bandwidth, but highly-popular sites. Cuz they can. And they like money. You should be very, very angry about this.

YES, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING. They should pay more for more usage. But, should an electric company charge more for power that goes to your fridge, just cuz they can? Should they refuse to give any power at all to your TV? No! That's none of their business. Power is power
-
That's what net neutrality is about. ISPs having the power to decide which websites you have access to, and whether they charge you through the nose for popular things or things you need. This will increase your bill, and not in a fair way. At all.
