I support this effort. I intervened when one of my Marines was contemplating suicide back it 2015. He welcomed his first child into the world a month ago. I failed one of my Marines from Afghanistan. He took his life in December. It is hard.
Senator, the Senate and House should start reconciliation process for the VETS Act of 2017, which would make anywhere-to-anywhere telemental health/telepsychiatry possible by connecting distance docs to Veterans struggling with suicidality w/o respect to licensure and location.
i went to the VA asking for therapy for suicidal thoughts after a couple of “attempts” and they said they could set me up for 6 sessions of therapy ir maybe 12 but thats it
