This screams desperation from the dairy industry.

500 farms were lost last year just in Wisconsin alone. 50 of them were dairy farms. Have you looked at dairy prices in the store? The dairy industry is hurting.
-
The hurt is real, but banning a word used by ppl who have chosen not to put dairy products in their bodies won't help at all. How about reforming taxes/subsidizes which help corporate farms at expense of little guys? How about support for transitioning to other jobs & land uses?

Boy are you going to be shocked when someone tells you about peanut butter.
-
Why you have an issue with Peanut Butter where the peanuts are grown in the South? 500 farms lost last hear in Wisconsin and 50 of them were diary farms. I guess you don't know the issues in Wisconsin so I would advise you to not say anything.
-
Timmy is pointing out that "peanut butter" uses the word "butter" even though it's from a peanut, not a cow: there's no real butter from cow's milk in it. If we're not allowed to say "almond milk", then are we going to ban the name "peanut butter" next?

Why the strong-arm tactics? Seriously, this is 1A infringement. What next? Beef industry going after Nature Burger?
-
Yes. As well as veggie jerky, vegan sausage, soy cheese, cashew yogurt, coconut cream and peanut butter.

Milk is designed to make 60 lb calves gain 500 lbs in 9 months. Oh and, they don't mind the pus, blood, added hormones, or antibiotics in their mammal juice.

I usually see the main argument for this being "consumers are confused by the nutritional value of substitutes" but have yet to see any data to back that up

A better idea would be to oppose, instead of support Trump's tariffs. That is the far greater threat to WI agriculture.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Can we stop this silliness and get working on things that actually matter? You're better than this.

Boy, this almost seems like it was written by the crazy, conservative WI Farm Bureau and their love of CAFOS,.

All for farmers and I love my cows' milk, but grossly better education for all would allow everyone to be able to determine simple things on their own like almonds don't produce milk, guns kill people, and selfish, childish, ignorant, abusive liars are not good pres candidates.

This is such a pointless piece of legislation. Everyone knows the difference between Soy Milk and 2%. Just a desperate attempt to appeal to the farmers

People don't drink Almond white liquid because they think it's a 'milk'. But, because it's low carb and non-lactose with generally differing nutritional qualities. Go on, take 'milk' off non-dairy labels. Just a waist of time and money. It won't change people's preferences.

While I appreciate your strong support for WI farmers, most ppl like me who have switched to non-dairy milk (and plant-based cheese, yogurt, etc.) aren't misinformed or misled. We simply understand that cow's milk just isn't healthy in such quantities for adult humans.

Also the United States is outstandingly obese. Almond milk has just around 50% less calories than cow milk. Not that this is a primary cause of obesity, but I'm sure it helps!!
