Well, @SenatorBaldwin, allow me to be one of the first to comment. I normally applaud your legislative actions, but this one is absurd. Of course there is no milk in soy milk. That's kinda the point. As long as the products clear state "soy milk" and not simply "milk", there

should be no concern. These products are not passing themselves off as dairy. Quite the contrary, they are passing themselves as NOT dairy, and for the benefit of vegans and people who are lactose-intolerant. I note from the video that the presence of lactose seems to be the

where lactose intolerance is fairly common, I know all too well that lactose is found in MANY unexpected places. I agree with the need for clear product labelling and accuracy/transparency of food ingredients. But the apparent goal here is to aid the dairy industry, and this

bill would never achieve that. It would only hurt other sectors of agriculture—California almond growers, soy farms, etcetera. Those vegans and lactose-intolerant are NOT going to buy real dairy milk, no matter what. Nor are people like me, who are fine with lactose but enjoy

Oh sheesh. Those of us allergic to cow milk are too smart for this asinine movement. There's a reason they don't say "almond milk," but instead say "almondmilk." Dairy farmers can suck it up and let those of us allergic have our equivalent.

I'm all for helping the farmers. Lord knows they need all the help they can get, but is this really it? Everyone already knows dairy alternatives aren't really milk. This is a colossal waste of your time. Please do something important, like fighting corruption.

YASSS girl. Tammy needs to step up her game before the mid-terms. Voters are going to see her as soft if she keeps touting herself with this fluff. She thinks she has til November, but people are making up their minds now. Put your big girl pants on
@SenatorBaldwin and get tough.

You know that supply management that Canada uses? Why don't you look into something that might work. Now go after Salisbury steak which isn't steak.

You know why Milk Alternatives are popping up more and more, because more people are realizing they are lactose intolerant. I'm lactose intolerant, I appreciate that there are more milk alternative to chose from.

Also there are lots of vegans around
