Sen. Manchin's approach IS the true definition of "checks and balances" they way it should be. He checked his politics at the door and did his job. I wish others were as careful in their approach. Nice try.

How is blocking a very qualified appointment to one of the President's top cabinet posts for political reasons upholding Article 1? Unless Senators find something "disqualifying" (like Devos for Ed. Sec.), POTUS should get their nominees. A1 Dems are NOT doing their job.

Paranoid. The "Dark Ages" were under Obama, as he created or continued the messes around the globe. I am definitely no fan of Trump, but we could have done a lot worse with HRC. Pompeo will do just fine and your misgivings will be unfounded.
