Tragedies like Las Vegas have happened too many times. We need to have the conversation about how to stop gun violence. We need it NOW.

@SenWarren I'm with you. Use Australia as best practice. We banned automatic guns in 1996 & no mass shootings/mass fatalities since then. -
Even before the Howard government passed those laws mass shootings were rare in Australia. Hard to argue that the laws have caused a change.

I disagree. I think the ban on semi auto guns made a difference in Oz. But, fortunately, we have no way of knowing for sure.

The laws certainly don't do any harm and I'm in favour of them. Just wanted to appraise them realistically. Don't want to gild the lily.
