In April I met a Minnesotan who said that she and her husband are spending 27% of their income on child care for one child. That’s absurd. Minnesota needs more affordable and quality child care options for working families.

Glad my staff heard Tracy & Trisha, co-founders of Little Eagles Childcare Center, discuss their work to bring more child care services to the greater Rochester area at @CEDAUSA’s meeting. I’m gathering input on MN’s child care shortage so I can address it in a meaningful way.pic.twitter.com/FHlNq6u2AA

Yes, we spend about 16% of our income for 3 days/week for one child. And to make matters worse, childcare workers are underpaid. Are there proposals out there that tackle both sides and maintain high standards of care?

How is it the Minnesota Muslims are being paid for not putting their children in daycare with our tax dollars. ???

Tina I have a novel idea to consider, how about making sure that you can afford to raise children before you have them? Well I guess that it is easier to just dump your responsibility onto someone else isn’t it?

O.K. But let's hear about what you want to do about these school shootings.

Really? I spent about that on before and after school care for my daughter & summer care when I was a single mother.

That's not the only state. Single dad of 2 at home, in NY, ALWAYS stressing about child care...among other things

Not a surprising #, sadly, and one that makes me scared/concerned for when/if I have kids in the future.
