Over the past few months, I’ve been traveling all around MN to gather input on local workforce needs. I’ve seen models that excel, visited communities that have found success, and I’ve seen places that could benefit from more resources and support.pic.twitter.com/joXMlGOHZA

These visits helped me write a bill that reflects both the needs of and successes pioneered by Minnesota, and I’m going to push to get this commonsense bill passed into law. https://www.facebook.com/USSenTinaSmith/posts/639459499733814 …

But EVERYONE should have access to and encouraged to attend college. You are advocating lowering the educational levels of people in order to take advantage of them and exploiting them. College needs to be free for everyone.

Why should anyone interested in a job that does not require a college degree be encouraged to attend college and rack up debt, or in your utopian world, a tab against the public that funds this so-called “free” college?

Right on. There are an abundant amount of ways to a good job and a career. Each path needs to be presented to everyone and let people make an informed decision. Education should be geared towards skills and life-long learning.

Good number of these jobs will eventually be automated putting many of these people out of work again. See chamber of commerce latest plans...they’ll end up like many, scavenging for jobs again at age 45- workers are disposable in our society
